Health

  • They can't lose weight

  • They aren't sleeping well

  • They battle "brain fog"

  • They're experiencing low energy & fatigue

So many come to me with the same challenges:

Overall, they simply don't feel well. Most have tried to find solutions on their own, only to find nothing works.

Our first order of business to being well is to get bloodwork done, preferably by a naturopath or functional medicine doctor. It doesn't matter what age you are, you may have a hormonal imbalance, issues with your adrenals or thyroid, or some other physiological issue that needs to be addressed medically. If your numbers fall within "normal" range, ask what is your "optimal range". That is where you want to live. If you are not at optimal levels, there are natural remedies that can be prescribed.

Once we identify any medical issues, we can get to work. The formula for being healthy is pretty simple. The actual mind and behavior shift is not as simple.

The “Be Well” Formula

  • Remove processed foods from your diet. Remove sugar from your diet. Good, organic fruits and vegetables, grass fed and finished beef, pasture raised organic chickens, wild caught seafood, and healthy herbs and oils all play a part in being well. We need it all. I shifted to an "Anti Inflammatory" diet which resulted in weight loss and all of the other inflammatory symptoms listed above to subside.

  • Movement, especially as we age, is imperative. Strength training is mandatory in order to minimize muscle loss as you age. (if your are over 65 and on medicare, you can most likely join a gym for free) Do it!

  • Another challenge in our plugged in, blue light obsessed culture. This may be the most challenging of all to find the right formula that will work for you. Sometimes, it has nothing to do with your physical being, but your mental well being. Sleep is also vital to healing and restoring our bodies to get up and get after our day with energy. Establishing some new routines might be what you need to get the sleep you need.

Fitness

You can have a gym in your home or in your building, but that doesn't mean you are using it or that you are optimizing your workouts. Join a gym close to your home and use it. I get it, you've paid for gym membership for years and never went. Me too! However, if you don't pay and play now to be well, you will pay later when you are not well. You might went to hire a trainer for a season to learn how to use the equipment, or hire a life coach that will help you with discipline, mindset and accountability. You need to develop new habits and here's some ideas:

  • Routine!

Go to bed early so you can get up early.

  • Daily Workout

Get a daily workout routine that focuses on your whole body.

  • Cardio

Cardio is a good thing, but not the only thing.

  • Have Fun

Have fun with it. Listen to upbeat motivational playlists, watch other who are more fit than you and see what they do, maybe even ask them to help you. I did and it paid off! I am now a proud member of the AM Crew at my gym.

  • Stay Hydrated

Use a pre-workout and be sure to stay hydrated!

There is so much more to this and not enough space here to serve you fully. When we work together, we will set up a plan to get you on the right track. Fitness is more about mindset than it is movement.

Lifestyle

Lifestyle is all about how you live.

Who do you surround yourself with?

What do you watch?

What do you listen to?

What is the atmosphere in your home and at work?

How do you have fun?

What is Lifestyle?

Lifestyle is all about living life fully on purpose and finding joy and satisfaction in the mundane as well as the magical.

Routine

Routine is setting up a daily practice of non negotiable engagement in the things that matter most. The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod is probably the best at laying out a clear list of routines that create one amazing life. S.A.V.E.R.S., an acronym for the methods to create daily routines. Silence, Affirmations, Visualization, Exercise, Reading, Scribe (journaling). Hal gives great direction in how to start your day and end your day powerfully with the right mindset.

Habits

My morning routine (every day. non negotiable):

Bible reading

Prayer & Silence

Journal/Writing

Discipline

This word has been given a bad rap. Discipline is not about punishment. It is about behavior.

"I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified." 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

This isn't about punishment. It's all about winning in life. It prepares you to be strong and vibrant in life. Embrace discipline. It is there to make you the best you can be!

Lifestyle is all about how you live.

Consider these words as you contemplate your lifestyle and ask yourself, "Am I living congruent with who I really am?" Craft out a lifestyle that matches your life in every area. Relationally, Environmentally, Spiritually, and Physically:
